Nashville's home for HEART RHYTHM MEDITATION

Heart Rhythm Meditation (HRM) is an ancient method of meditation that has been expanded and developed by Puran Bair and Susanna Bair of the
Institute for Applied Meditation. The method was described in the 1998 book Living from the Heart, by Puran Bair, and in the 2007 book Energize Your Heart in 4 Dimensions, by Puran and Susanna Bair.

Heart Rhythm Meditation is a practical methodology for enhancing life through the transforming power of the heart. By heart, we mean both the physical heart that synchronizes the cells in the body to a common beat, and the poetic heart that inspires our greatest emotions and accomplishments. Through Heart Rhythm Meditation, we can develop the heart's capacities in specific ways to improve our physical and emotional health, form deeper and more lasting relationships, achieve our dreams and goals, and gain meaning in our lives.

The method of HRM involves conscious breathing, use of the full lung capacity, a concentration on the heart (both the physical heart and the emotional or poetic heart) and an intervention in the breath to make it rhythmic, through the coordination of the breath and heartbeat. Several different rhythmic patterns are used, including making the length of the inhale even with the length of the exhale, for example, 8 beats in, 8 beats out; this is called "The Swinging Breath".

Whether you are a total beginner or an advanced meditator, an athlete or an artist, a spiritual seeker or a person struggling with health challenges, this is a technique that can help you tremendously tone your heart-mind connection and enhance your personal experience of life.  All ages can benefit from this practice, young or old or somewhere in between.

We learn and practice meditation tools that help us:
Develop presence, courage and optimism. Create inner stability amidst uncertainty. Enhance vitality and stamina. Establish effective rhythm in work and play. Renew inspiration, and sense of purpose. Tap creative problem-solving faculties.
